Neurosis

Neurosis
Sovereign
Over the past couple of years, the frontal lobe aggression from this Oakland noise contingent (along with their alter ego Tribes of Neurot) has transformed their once-brutal mix into a sinister, crytic mesh of tones, now driven by primal tribal percussion, mystical voices, and searing psychedelic fretwork. Although this unholy sonic alliance of Pink Floyd's "Ummagumma" and Venom's "At War With Satan" may be too abrasive for most listeners, the loose association of mind-expanding jams, hyperactive rhythms, and dense, dynamic structures (think Tool) are wholly unique in this realm of heaviness. ROM portion includes disturbing, hallucinogenic imagery that goes with the audio, including a web link for a few bonus tracks. –chip edwards (Neurot Recordings)
